I had a Gen 1 Miata and it was a roadster, not a sports car. Beautiful, turned engine ports, throw the top and cruise, ... Probably the best, most enjoyable ride I've had. But not dripping with horsepower, and some care had to be ex

I’m still confused how they’ll get affordable housing near employment, given that nobody wants to allow wfh anymore. Where ground is expensive, housing is expensive or a closet. Where ground is cheap, there’s little or no employment.

Isn't "rage bait" just a longer way of saying "trolling"? Or is there some subtle different I'm not aware of? Is it "trolling trying to piss people off a lot"?

If they stay kicked off, then the revenue of various social media websites will go down. It's possible they'll even discover that there are social aspects of people that are enjoyable.

I would imagine the financial numbers don't look so rosy if children are present (assuming the person's in the US). Uni and post-uni tuition and fees could eat a fair bit of 1.5M.

Somebody should convince the guy that it doesn't count ending a war that you started a little while before... Also, there has to be a general trend of peacefulness in one's behaviour.

There are some things which rely on their software for safety (space shuttle, perhaps cars, ...). For these cases, I really, really hope they're being coded in a way that looks like engineering, not like vibe. Nobody probably dies if&

Years back, they referred to developers as craftsmen and encouraged them to develop their craft. I suspect many/most of those recreating code view themselves as artists. Which aren’t engineers.

Wonder how this kind of statement will affect HN recruiting and staffing? Money is rather mobile, and dislikes disorder.

That’s two cancelled classes…. Seems they’re not sure what they want or can’t hold to a plan. Why not keep building Burke class ships and use missile systems to handle shallow water action. Or drones, possibly gunships with standoff capab

Bizarre. This says that most children are had by adolescents. And that they’ve always been mostly had by adolescents. Maybe this is an example of culturally-driven development? Or does this explain why there’s so many bad parents?

Why does a consumer company need sales force folks for businesses or government? They have stores for that, and people buy on line from resellers. Non consumer stuff hasn’t moved the needle for Apple since like 2005.

Code is either used once or forever it seems. And too much of the former persists. I use a flippant reminder: "Always code as if the guy who ends up maintaining your code will be a violent psychopath who knows where you live." K

I’m sure all of this software AI starts with skin albedo. Dress stuff in modern clothes, but the people are the same. Shakespeare anticipated this: “Yond Cassius has a lean and hungry look; He thinks too much: such men are dangerous.”

I’m m sure the worst racism is telling Native Americans (First Nations here in Canada) to go back to their country. North America was their country before those white folk fetched up on shore.

I’ve been downvoted by people tired of hearing the same comments (of a centre left style). Ok, but it sure seems like people love themselves some Fox News. Business doesn’t mean crushing workers, particularly in the areas of interest to HN.
