No, it happens with a proper RAID controller also, but is now fixed as I mentioned separately.

I’ve run XFS at scale and I’ve seen exactly this behaviour (files open for writing becoming truncated after power loss). However it was definitively fixed in a kernel update about 5-10 years ago. I haven’t seen it since.

It's not going to be a popular opinion due to the 10x difference in price, but I think the Rohde & Schwarz RTB2004 is one of the best hobbyist class scopes you can get (in terms of bang/buck).

That was 6 years ago and it was indeed tough back then, we were rewriting a huge trading system from Java -> C++ while trying to keep our edge. However, we succeeded and things have changed considerably since. We also have a dev working

Or you could lose nearly everything if it goes sour, I think it’s important to point that out. That’s basically equivalent to betting on options (but wrapped up in a way that looks simple). Always remember XIV.

We absolutely have this in the UK. The IOPC are the body who people can complain to about police conduct and would investigate. I presume most normal countries have such a thing. I believe any death is automatically referred for review, eve

That’s certainly true, a correctly predicted branch costs little more than a nop or unconditional jmp. Code doesn’t have to be branch free, just branch in a predictable way. Statically branch free code is great when you have things that are

Rust becomes extremely painful as soon as you want to push the boundary. If you need to ensure you fit a struct into a cacheline, or you need to ensure an object is reused. All of these things can be done, even things like recycled intrusiv

Unfortunately high frequency trading is an area where C++ is normally the right choice, even for a new project.

I guess it’s similar to comparing a $100,000 sports car to a $100 bicycle. The bicycle is a lot better than walking, but surprisingly a 1000x price difference is considered reasonable even when both products carry out the same superficial f
