Sorry, but I disagree. It's not about the "image nature" of CL (which, btw, is a very outdated way of using CL), but the interactive nature of CL. They're similar, in that a Lisp REPL has a memory image, but a running

I wonder why something like this takes 4 years to roll out? Is there a legitimate reason? Or is it lobbyist dollars at work already, buying time?

I'm not sure VNC is the really the default on Linux, or that there even is a "default" solution. On local networks I've had good luck tunneling X, and it's even worked well running lightweight programs remote over a

Sure, but what happens after that when the gem developer asks for the gem to be removed from Rubygems? Or decides to leave an old, insecure version on Rubygems?

On the other hand, I don't think it's "smart" for a person to ruminate and dwell on problems they can't change, especially not to the point that it has negative effects on their life. The way I see it, we're al

At some point it just gets ludicrous, though. Is it reasonable for everybody to go buy "burner" phones to sign up for Twitter? The truth is, it's stupid for Twitter to require a phone number, and it's especially stupid t

Here in Boulder most property crimes are ignored by the police. They'll file a report to give to your insurance company, but they'll flat out tell you that they're not going to do anything. I think it's a few things con

No thanks. I’m already annoyed that UI on iPhone is too “busy” and there’s no way to turn off the lyrics display. If they want to add extra crap, they should put it in a new app. Even more so now that libspotify is gone.

I agree with your point, but the numbers on that site are suspicious. New Mexico's GDP isn't $400 billion - it's more like $100 billion. Colorado's is about $380-400 billion, and not $1.5 trillion. https://en
