That was just an extreme example. If I were a freelancer and having a great month / 3 months / year I would quick sign up for Even and extend the ride a little longer.

Just because something is illegal doesn't make it any less costly to enforce. I agree that Even probably has some recourse, I'm just not sure what it is. Part of me thinks that this is Even's first pivot. See if there is a m

How can you afford a high touch sign up process for a customer who is worth ~$144 a year?

This interest free loan makes it VERY susceptible to fraud or abuse. Lets consider for example, a technology contractor, making $120,000 a year from various contracting jobs. The contractor could sign up for Even, and then retire, collectin

Also to alleviate the possibility of the stock market at large expanding and wiping out any gains form the QQQQ not doing as well you can sell puts on a broader index(like s&p) and then sell calls for the what you think will do poorly.

I agree with your opinion of inverse ETFS in general. As to the fact that there is no guarantee that puts or shorting will pay off this is stating the obvious. Its called speculation for a reason. No pain no gain.

That's interesting they must have changed the fee structure from the last time I looked. That being said a contract usually refers to 100 options on the underlying. So a contract for the put options you talked about would be $200 +.75

The short answer( which is almost always the short answer to generic investment strategy advice) is it depends. I wouldn't select an actively managed fund like inverse ETFs based on their strategy. You aren't just investing in the

Sam Altman's quote is more zen. I took it to mean reach for the stars because the only thing that sucks more than failing is wondering if you would have succeeded. Scott Adam's is slightly more pragmatic. I took his quote as meani

I think your argument fails with the assumption that not starting a business gives leaves you with nothing. Starting and failing 80% of the time does not net you with 0. The opportunity cost of the time you spent on failed ventures is much

I 100% agree that the recruiter would have an adverse reaction to a city name that they have a difficult time pronouncing. I disagree that a recruiter is going to look at a city named "Rehab" and think "hmm... might be a drug

The title says "someone" but the article is talking about families that make $75,000. There is a big difference between a 23-25 year old making $75k and 2 30-35 year olds making 75k combined.
