Sometimes a house of cards is exactly what you need to prove that it is a good idea. Then you can look for weaknesses and fortify the structure. You just can't blame the wind when it comes and knocks down the house. Also, I think half

If you built a business around data that you didn't explicitly have the rights to you built that house of cards yourself.

A number of cards have the CVV on the same side of the card.(E.g American Express & Chase Sapphire) Also, if one has the CC number wouldn't it be feasible to brute force the CVV. There are only 999 permutations. You would have a .1

On a side note, can anyone explain to me how the CVV makes online checkout more secure? Presumably, if someone were to hijack your form, they would be getting the CC number and the CVV. If you lost your card, they would have the CVV. To me

My mental model of how this process works is that when YC evaluates your startup you are starting at zero. It is up to you to sway them to a one. If you were rejected, that is because you didn't sway them to a one. It is probably a var

How many smokers are health conscious enough to know that they have a B12 deficiency but not health conscious enough to quit smoking?

I think the point that the op was trying to make was that smoking may cause a B12 deficiency. Having a deficiency may lead to taking a supplement.

The only thing that you mentioned that would make me a little bit nervous is that you have been working entirely by yourself. I would think a github repo with 1000 stars would give you the opportunity to work with others. Maybe start accept

What is the issue with the ID structure? I would think generating your own ID's would make the process of updating rows when you get new data much more difficult. Also, is there a reason why dropping the database and adding these recor

I think its possible to replicate the college experience outside of academia, but I think its a good way to take the risk out. In college, you are in a cohort of peers who are prioritizing growing/learning over most other things. In th

I don't think that assumption was unfair. The way that the previous comment was framed, Google implemented this so that other browsers seemed slow. Those intentions seem pretty evil. With the framing of pushing browsers to implementing

My cynical answer to that is: They may have considered that... and not cared. Their job was to pump up the number of subscriptions, sell Wall Street on their growth metrics, and then cash out in an IPO. Blue Apron truly doesn't feel li

It is unfair for them to not allow you to bill for the 3+ hour ramp up time. A couple possible ways I could think to resolve this: 1) You could start pushing back immediately on the issues that you know are unrealistically allocated. Point
