Is it just me or does Google not promote these apps at all from within the Android Market itself? I'm looking for some menu option or banner that says "Check out these great apps", and am not seeing one.

Mike left a comment when someone asked that same question in the post: "of course there is more to the story. but the point is we’d gotten past all the ugly sausage making that goes into any startup and had moved to within days of launching

The key words in your comment are "chance" and "possibility". If it really was just a simple matter of when you're putting in the time, plenty more people would do the 9 years of intense work for 36 years of freedom later on. Thing is, fo

Is there a reason why so many languages are nearly impossible to search for? (C, C++, Go, etc.) I mean, surely someone must have figured out that this is not the best naming trend quite a while ago.

The issue is that the phone is apparently not auto-focusing properly. When you take a shot you'll often see red markers in the corners, which supposedly indicate that the camera couldn't focus (you're supposed to see green, at least accord

Jobs didn't return to be CEO. He was an advisor for a while, then was appointed interim CEO (which he apparently was only expected to be for a few months). http://www.apple.com/ca/press/1997/09/InterimCEO.html

Oh, I have no doubt it isn't as good as the BlackBerry keyboard. But it might be a good enough compromise for people who want something that's sort of iPhone-like but need a physical keyboard.

Is it just me or does this not mention the keyboard, which is going to be a huge selling point for many Blackberry addicts?

According to CNET they do cache it: "They cache the route selection after you input a destination, so it's stored locally and you won't lose the directions if you lose the connection. If you want to deviate from the route without a connecti

They just released their quarterly results, which say that average selling price is going way down. So it's not just the Google announcement: http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601085&sid=alkD...

They cache your route, so if you lose your connection you're fine. However, if you make a detour it won't be able to recalculate a new route until it gets connectivity again.

I've heard a couple times that Pandora doesn't really rely on the Music Genome any more because it has so much other listener data it can use to determine relevant matches. Haven't actually asked Pandora about it, so take that with a grain

It isn't clear yet. Google Voice isn't VoIP (at least, not in the same way that Skype is) because you use your carrier's minutes whenever you place a call. That said, AT&T may choose to bundle the two announcements together because the

Not sure what the quote has to do with your comment. In the post announcing the policy, Mike said that we would break all embargoes, save for some exceptions. It was purposely nebulous.

Here's a question I've had for a while now. It may sound naive, but I'll ask it anyway: Given the way Twitter is set up to track current trends, shouldn't it be really easy for them to identify when one identical tweet gets repeated hundred
