Snow Leopard was essentially a maintenance release, and I think you're correct there with the rest.

Yeah, this literally has zero impact on anything at all. I simply don't care, even if someone can find an anomaly in frame by frame inspection of rendering.

The short answer is that a regular spinning HD can be wiped with bcwipe or any other equivalent, but the SSD really can't be wiped in any secure manner that is trustworthy.

I think if that were the case there would be a lot more people with the issues you’re talking about. My whole shop uses Macs and nobody has this issue. I’m on one of three different variant MBPs (including one like yours) all day every day

Of course you have. Not worth it, indeed.

I've used Java in the enterprise plenty. Not a fan. And no, it's really never faster than properly written C/C++. And no, the actual HFT stuff is written in C++.

Claiming that a 1967 position accurately reflects my opinions about something (I wasn't even born then) is pretty silly. Claiming that something that happened in 1967 is the current position of an organization on record opposing that s

Sure. Of course Oracle wants you to believe that Java is faster than C.

Linux on the desktop "works" today just like it did twenty years ago -- painfully and with a lot of work to work around the operating system's inability to be a desktop OS. Same thing with Java. Sure, it's not as slow

I have the same machine and none of those issues. Probably yours is broken somehow. Would recommend bringing it in for service while it's in warranty.

I’m very well informed on the fast and furious scandal. I don’t care what Wikipedia has to say about anything - especially where guns are concerned.

It's a nice story. Claiming violence in Mexico started because of an idiotic plan to trace 2000 guns in the border area in 2006 is absurd.

No. Don't be ridiculous. The Cartels import weapons by the container load, and not from the US. And that's not including the ones they steal or just appropriate from their own government.

All of your premises are incorrect. The law of war doesn’t work the way you claim. At all. The Geneva convention specifically addresses non uniformed combatants and people wearing the wrong uniform, and does not permit them to be shot rathe

That’s absolutely untrue. Unlawful combatants have less rights under the law of war, but no one is allowed to summarily execute them.

That’s absolutely untrue. Any law abiding citizen should have whatever arms they want. I don’t care what their politics is.

They’re not combatants at all. Totally inapplicable to the discussion and absolutely the wrong way to look at this anyway.

As a somewhat libertarian, I disagree with Amazon's actions, but I also don't believe the government ought to be able to force them to do otherwise. Why do you pretend this viewpoint doesn't exist? That's the normal vie

That linked article is a really great example of how not to credibly criticize someone's work. There's a ton of straw man argument going on in there.

I meant US, I'm far less familiar with soviet bloc aircraft. Dropping LGBs in close air support isn't a thing. There are other tools for that. Target designation with a laser designator isn't something that anyone is going

At least our aircraft can self-designate though, they don't require a laser on the ground.

We've already had a JSF launch a missile from an Arleigh Burke over the horizon and guide it all the way to the target. This stuff that was science fiction a decade ago is now reality.

I'll never forget manually flying at 150 feet at 150kts for hours, using the keyboard only, trying to evade all the radars along the way, sneaking up just to the outer edge of your missile's range to the target, popping open the b
