I don't think we'll see massive performance improvements, but the focus from Apple seems to be power per watt. If you get similar performance to what you have today, and that looks feasible for most workflows if you poke around

General Nakasone is a lifelong intelligence officer with degrees in the field of intelligence, and he’s been in the intelligence and cyber warfare fields for decades. He’s not a computer scientist, but he’s also not an English teacher they

NYT hasn't met a story they can't spice up with some made up details. Gallagher was tried in a Navy court, not federal court. When they claim they "tried repeatedly to report what they saw", they may have talked to some

It's trained from early in bootcamp that misconduct must be reported and dealt with. The Gallagher debacle did not go like you're claiming. Some of the SEALs who reported him went on to choice assignments that I know of personall

I believe they've committed to continuing support for at least seven years. I'll also point out that for some workflows having an Intel Mac is critical, and as such buying additional machines to put on the shelf for future use is

I know more than one mech e who got into the program and couldn’t handle it. It’s just straight up pain and suffering and the actual education is sub par. If you read through omscentral a lot of the reviews there are actually spot on.

Depends on exactly what I'm doing -- mostly XCode to write C or C++ and then one of a variety of cross-compilers either native on the Mac or in a Linux VM if there's not one available that runs native on OSX. I also use Netbeans a

GA Tech will be cheaper, having GA Tech on your resumé is a net positive in a job search. Beyond that, you're going to be starting over, and frankly the GA Tech experience isn't very good in any way -- speaking as a student that&#

That's pretty much what I assumed from what I know of VMWare. It's going to be a big issue for future Macs, there are entire segments of developers who may have to abandon Macs if we can't run VMs of x86 operating systems.

For web dev, it shouldn't matter. For embedded? We're going to be done unless there's a rock solid emulation layer available to us, because if I can't run Linux VMs to build embedded stuff I can't use it.

There is no reason to expect that virtualbox, parallels or Vmware will emulate x86-64 to run a guest OS. None of them does any emulation today, they are virtualization platforms.

Apple's not going that way. They've done nothing to make the Mac more of a locked down platform or more like iOS, except for security things, and those you can disable quite easily.

It's hard to tell what this is a solution for, since there's no information at the link. It's probably not, but we'll have to wait and see.
