Please also note that German software engineers have much less money comparing to almost any other country. The average salary is 4900 Euro and after tax this will be 2900 Euro !!! Even software engineers in a poor country like Ukraine make

To me developing with WSL2 is now even better than on native Linux - works exceptionally well. I use it with VS Code + WSL plugin and Docker for Windows.

A lot of people switched to remove work due to coronavirus and now they need a laptop, so the demand is extremely high for laptops and it's components. It's much easier to do almost any work on a laptop than on smartphone.
