I was playing on a 3080 and i second this. It was way too demanding for my card, at least with any ray tracing on. I just upgraded to a 4080 and it runs flawlessly though, I guess they were targeting 40-series cards for anything raytraced.

Just because the child labor isn’t happening on our soil, isn’t it still valid to say a lot of our supply chains are supported by it? Chocolate, coffee, clothing, rare minerals from electronics, electronic assembly all have slavery and chil

I knew the CEO’s name but I don’t see why there needs to be any reverence for him. “This guy” is plenty clear enough, we’re all talking about the same person.

I’ve been using Hue lights for about 6 years now. They’re mostly not a pain, except for when they are. Some examples: - I used to move a lot, like every year or so. Each move required a few hours of setup in the new place. Compared to screw

Yeah they’re talking about cops that got some fentanyl on their hand and thought they were having an overdose when really it was just a panic attack. I’ve read a couple of news articles where something along those lines happened. Edit: one

How is it that none of these are “no, because that hurts our bottom line even if it’s good for the public”? The framing in this article suggests that corporations and societies are usually aligned in their interests. This has not been my ex

“And car noise doesn't make it inside the houses” Oh really? I’m sitting inside my apartment listening to car noise right now. Our apartment sits away from the street too, probably 150ft away.

It’s exciting to see a complex crpg get so popular. It had something like 700k concurrent steam players yesterday. I think in 2-3 years time we’re going to see a wave of rpgs that focus on freedom of choice over action riding the success of

I think complete plays is a pretty fair metric, though it hurts 45 minute long epics or Dj sets or w/e. The bigger issue I have is with “number of times played.” I listen to some comfort-food music over and over again, but the most rew

It’s not though? I’ve taken 600+ rides and gave all 5-stars except for a single dangerous ride. Maybe I’m not as exacting as your average HN commenter, but I’d still describe my stance as “always give 5 stars” despite the outlier.
