I just bought an American Telecaster. I guess they are one of the few things that are still primarily produced here (some guitars). But yeah the store owner told me that fender is about to raise prices across the board regardless of whether

Very cool that at least in S. Korea one can "mess up" by dropping out of high school and eventually go on to study under, work with, and finally win one of the most prestigious medals in the world. I think this _may_ be possible i

How often do people become very good at something without spending the vast majority of their time on it for a long time?

Because they have users and OpenAI has seen the massive drop off in coding usage since Claude Code came out. My personal Chatgpt decline is at least 99%. It’s also 1% of their current market value. So not really a big deal.

Yes as an American who’s loved in Europe for six years or so the risk taking and desire to start and do things a little differently is just night and day more than it is in Europe, generally speaking.

A thought I had is that they shouldn't show the "impact", they should simply show the tariff that was paid for a given product. Let the consumers develop their own facts, knowledge and biases about the actual effect. They cou

Not having to specify files is a humongous feature for me. Having to remember which file code is in is half the work once you pass a certain codebase size.

To support this: Oceans are more conducive to exploration due to their natural currents and lack of mountainous regions or rivers which inhibit movement. Like the comment below was getting at: if you are water bound, you are very unlikely t

This implies that every horizontal acquisition is anti-competitive, does it not? If not I would love to read why not.

I guess I would argue that revenue, while not everything that matters, is super important. And I’m guessing that Google has nowhere near the revenue that OpenAI has. Even if they can bundle for “loyalty”, that is an uncertain future there.

Exactly. I thought it did, just didn't want to claim too much about it. Been a couple of months since I looked at it. I wish things would coalesce around this one.

I’ve been using the cudarc crate professionally for a while to write and call cuda from rust. Can highly recommend. You don’t have to use super old rustc versions. Although I haven’t looked exactly what you do need to use recently.

As an American moving back there from Switzerland and scared to lose the German I know, maybe this is exactly what I need. Though I will say that “benutze” is much longer than “use” haha. Would be hilarious to make a Swiss German version. E

We have one of their PS5 games that my son plays some. If you start a new game you are forced to watch, without any way of bypassing, a 5-10 minute long incredibly boring video. One of the worst game experiences ever.

We could use smaller external batteries that take seconds to replace more often? I still think road charging would be cool and obviously the fastest if we never have to stop anyways. Couldn’t work everywhere in the US probably but I can dre

To me he’s doing the same thing he’s always done. I don’t think this is anything special. The market to gdp ratio is super high. It makes sense to be cautious here if you are managing hundreds of billions of dollars.

I looked at this. I don’t fully understand the game yet. One thing I do not like is the emphasis of speed. Humans should not be making fast financial decisions, trading or otherwise. Sure you could improve with this game. But you don’t have

I'll just say that AI for coding has been amazingly helpful for finding bugs and thinking things through and improving things like long functions and simplifying code. But it can absolutely not replace entire programmers at this point,
