Yeah it seems very similar to LFS, including the verbiage on the pages. Wondering if the same people are behind this. I first used LFS to build my own distro back in college and that experience made me learn a lot about the components of th

MongoDBs market is not exactly the same as the Hadoop vendors' although there are overlaps. One of the biggest driver of adoption for mongo are projects that start out as small, rapidly done prototypes and then grow large. It's re

I agree. The term holocaust is more contemporary. Back in roman times enslavement and extermination seems to have been relatively common.

Optimization is generally used as a broader term than what code level optimization means. Although code optimization does help systems vertically scale. I've seen quite a few projects fail because the engineers didn't think throug

But since video chat is quite commoditized building a scalable system from ground up would have helped them counter facebook by quickly building features on top of what they had. The article itself mentions that they had to stop what they w

Your new products seem to be SaaS applications. How do you guys plan to support the operations on a day to day basis? Will there be rotating rosters for who needs to provide devops support for a given week/month? Because I presume that

I think lifestyle businesses (like Mobile Jazz) should be more service focused (although they seem to have a few products). That way you get work, do it and get paid. No hassle of reaching the top and maintaining the lead.

This is actually one of the long term plans. Like another comment said it's very difficult to identify who's a citizen and who's not, so people are likely to give up some privacy for getting other benefits. In fact most peopl

Awesome idea! And a noble cause. But one word of advice - since this is a niche market you guys should focus on natural growth and profitability instead of getting too much VC money to fuel explosive growth.

Exactly! this is terrifying. The law should be exercised by neutral parties, not the plaintiff. This is the equivalent of you being able to imprison a person in your house because they stole something from you.
