Yes, learning kana is the fastest way to internalize the Japanese phonetic system. Learning the katakana pronunciation of English learn words can be fun. There was a popular TV commercial jingle for “McDonald’s” that only works in Japanese

Allowing only people who have served on call or made concrete contributions to multiple RCAs to have input on the software development process is a wonderful idea!

The latter is the reason for the former. There was such an over use of shame to hurt people's social standing and careers that it stopped being effective. At some point, people lost all trust in the institutions carrying out the shami

Do the BBC or other outlets use "officer-involved incident" without quotes? It's generally police officials that use that terminology.

There is no way to win that battle. Not reporting on Trump is not an option because his words and actions have huge ramifications for the world. I think in general the press has gotten much better at just straight up saying that Trump is ly

I don't think that's true and would be curious to see evidence otherwise. I believe BBC and other outlets with journalistic standards use quotes when reporting what officials say and only drop the quotes when they have independent

The last paragraph is the only relevant one. We can still produce more goods and services with single earner families than we could in the 1950s. But far more of that productivity goes to capital, resulting in multiple earners to support t

Why was economic productivity high enough to allow single income families in the 1950s but not today?

Yes the 1950s is the existence proof. I don’t see the relevance of the 1850s, our economic productivity has greatly increased since then. Why can we no longer have the same economic productivity we had in the 1950s that allowed for more si

We had a few decades in the US where it was pretty normal and comfortable to raise a family on a single income. What law of physics dictates that it’s impossible to construct such a society again?
