How much involvement did framework have in this becoming a thing? I'm asking because I want to get a feel for how long a decent (probably third-party) ARM mainboard might take.

Browser features to block autoplay do work. (most default to allow muted videos) Videos won't play unless they're started by javascript triggered by a small handful of user generated events. i.e. if the .play() is further down the

I don't think I tried with anything older than CS5 stuff, but blocking the program in the firewall and putting in any valid CD key (people posted them online) worked flawlessly. I assume it worked this way so people with airgapped mach

Web browsers' and wget use the same HTTP features for resuming downloads (range-requests) so if it works in one it should work in the other. I've never had enough data in a google takeout that it would fail partway though.

Does usb4 require any circuitry in the cable? I'd expect a 20-odd connector cable to be available for $7 (direct from china) pretty easily. I haven't bought many, but the best type C cables (usb3) I ever bought were €2.12 each.

Don't you have to be party to the conversation to be 1-party? Should still be illegal to record one you're not a part of. (if such laws even apply in person rather than just over phones)

I always install fail2ban or something like it on servers I want to have SSH on. Really cuts down on the log volume, even if I have locked myself out occasionally. The thing about port scanning is that it's cheap as hell. There's

Reading examples of unwritten rules in the English language always feels kind of unsettling to me. Like the order adjectives are supposed to appear in.

Very nice finding a random VGA cable on the road. Happened to me once or twice, but never when I wanted one of them.

Is it inkdown or bluestone? Looks like the repo is in the middle of a rename or something. Cool concept.

If you strictly want to use bash, zenity and kdialog exist. I don't think you can create complex layouts with them, but calling either to get a dialog window is incredibly easy.

It was a pretty smart decision by gorhill to make a different content blocker for manifest V3 compliance rather than having ublock origin have wildly different capabilities depending on the browser it's installed in.

I assume when you copied that text out of the browser it appeared as "offline", unless you had an email client that did rich text. Would have been funny to get a bug email saying it should be "offline" but it's &quo

I like that you linked to a javascript miner. Makes it really easy to try instead of needing to write up some code. Design/colour scheme is nice too.

How would a smart contract release a decryption key at some point in the future without external input like this? Couldn't someone just fork the chain and manipulate it with arbitrary amounts of self-mined ether?

I think they'd rather you play the game on their streaming service that runs the game from a ps3-alike sitting in a rack.

Each ps3 was cheaper than the per-CPU cost of what you'd get from IBM. I'm sure you'd make it up in power usage pretty quick though.

Since it was announced, my assumption has been that microsoft is putting python in excel like this to make using python to manipulate spreadsheets less common since that'd eat a lot of their moat around their program. If it were common

Is there any additional processing overhead to doing that? I think you can have the console play CD tracks, or subsets of tracks basically for free, which is why most games did that.
