This makes me wonder: what’s the status of GPU programming on the JVM? Any abstraction for GPGPU or shaders programming?

That reminds me of the Citroën CX speedometer that was like a horizontal ribbon (probably a cylinder though): http://i.ytimg.com/vi/BQSdmmRemeg/maxresdefault.jpg

I’m France, I felt the opposite: American movies are so surreal with so much violence and guns for everyone, and sex is weirdly depicted. I think French movies contained some sex scene almost all the time, mainly because it’s what happens i

I get the idea, but the example itself about the logger is not great IMO. Any class doing IO is a dependency, so you normally would just inject it via the constructor of the class.

Web servers: I’ve used Apache httpd, nginx, caddy and haproxy. Caddy is my favourite in local and in production, but haproxy is more powerful if no need to serve files. Java web frameworks: spring, spring boot and quarkus. I’d go with quark

I’d go with sending myself a push notification on the phone through a dedicated service file and then call it with this in my unit file: OnFailure=send-push-notification.service Perhaps via a WhatsApp notification or any other instant messa

I think the future is to never fill-in your cards info anymore, and maybe not even have a card at all. Once you start using something with a QR Code, it's much much better: - WeChat Pay and co. (in China); - PhonePe and co (in India);

This reminds me of forms explicitly requesting filling-in your name "exactly as written in your passport", only to directly refuse any non-ascii characters (like any accents).
