I've just recently discovered Slick only by noticing it performed quite well in TechEmpower's last round of benchmarks. So I'm genuinely curious, what's wrong with Slick?

I see references to scaling web servers but not for dedicated database servers. Is this possible? I'm thinking specifically of hot standby PostgreSQL servers.

I wonder what Krugman's calculation would be without buying into the "broken windows" theory. Though I'm no economist, a 0.5% GDP boost from a single version of a product from a single company seems crazy.

System76 does a great job of this. 6 laptops, 6 desktops, and 5 servers. They lay them out on a page so you can make a fairly quick guess about which one or two you want. They come with Ubuntu and seem fairly reasonably priced too.
