I can not even thank the existence of this project enough! the simple improvement in internet speed is well worth it, even though i do too have a pihole running. Sometimes when i visits friends i barely recognize sites that i use frequently

i just thought this through building my new PC and house. The bottleneck is always the NIC because the most you can do right now is like 10gbe for conventional motherboards. After that you also run into cabeling issues. Cat 8 for instance a

this depends on how your setup is! for instance bigger clouds offer you private registry with your account usually. Then there is the github container registry: https://github.blog/2020-09-01-introducing-github-container-...

Please dont forget that you can cache all these images in your own registry! you will still have to worry about how to get updates, but set up a private registry and deal with this on your on time! As a side node, Rancher desktop is good en

and you must be a customer of the server auctions :D No but i get it, but i had a lot of failures in general with spinning disks. I think it has to do that SSDs and NVMEs are much better at telling you how much juice they got left in them.

I have been working in the industry since 20 years and i have not a single bad word to loose about Hetzner. Their Service has always been impeccable and their servers just run. I have been running k8s clusters on hetzner for quite some time

a controller is an operator without crd. its in the name control and operate. controlling refers to directing or regulating the behavior of something, while operating refers to the actual execution or manipulation.

i know what you mean, but i am doing this for more than 20 years now. From bare-metal over openstack to serverless, i have pretty much provisioned all of them. Kubernetes is more like a way of doing things than a technology. Basically APIs

You can configure your local ipv6 net without SLAAC (Stateless Address Autoconfiguration). Or differently put, you don't need to use the net your isp provides everywhere, ipv6 can still use NAT if you want it to: https://ope

Sim city is a phone game. I want to build cool cities full stop. I think what was more the problem is that a LOT of studios realized that a sim city clone works better on mobile hardware, because that's where the target audience is at.
