I think many peoples' experience is that most real world data models aren't as perfect as making up toy examples in blog posts. Requirements and individuals change over time. You can make an argument that in a perfect world with i

Maybe you only work on your own code more often than not but I've had discussions during code reviews with junior developers on why this is bad practice.

Find something you like doing more than doomscrolling. You probably have no hobbies or creative outlet. Also turn off all notifications so you don't get sucked back in while you're doing other things.

The last comment by a gradle team member, before closing the ticket says "... you won't be able to run Gradle 6.8.x on Java 16". Some users having some success compiling isn't really a ringing endorsement of a build sys

To support java 16 all I had to do was change the release tag in my compiler plugin and everything just worked. Didn't have to ugprade maven, didn't have to upgrade the compiler plugin. Gradle users had to wait until they released

As a daily user I'm glad that eclipse is still around. After so many of my colleagues switched I tried to use Intellij for Java+Maven projects twice in earnest, but there were too many small things it felt like it did not quite as well

After trying to write complex loop statements and conditionals in yaml for ansible I had this thought as well. It's nice when declarative configurations work, but once they don't and you have to try to write a real program in yaml

I've been using org mode since 2015 and for a majority of that time I didn't really customize anything besides some more TODO labels. I've changed my layout several times too as I've changed projects or roles. Since it&#
