Not a problem at all, you probably want "brownie points". Brownie points: https://en.m.wiktionary.org/wiki/brownie_point#English Good boy points: https://knowyourmeme.com/memes/tendies-st

It's convenient that companies can do more than one thing at a time. I agree that these are also important but I don't think they detract from this cause.

Why do you think that social justice should only be worked on by NGOs? It seems that all of the comments on this thread are folks who don't want Apple working on social problems.

Sorry dang. Should I just flag posts when people are pushing misinformation? It feels wrong to call in an authority to delete their post instead of dealing with it directly, but it seems like directly confronting people leads to the above.

Please try the above examples with 12 or 24 words if you think that will make it easier. Example: Secret: either "a b c d e f g h i j k l" or "a b c d e f g h i j k l m n o p q r s t u v w x" Participants: Alice, Bob, Ca

One important difference: you can set the quorum. If you just take a key (or phrase) and split it between 5 trusted folks, there's no way to say "a quorum of 3 people must be present to get my key back".

Interesting, thanks for pointing this out! Do you have any insights on how hard it is to implement? I'm not familiar enough with ADSS to tell whether it's worth the innovation token. [0] [0]: https://mcfunley.com/c

I agree, and that's why I work on Scuttlebutt. But I also think we should do everything in our power to dissuade dangerous folks (example: violent extremists) from using these tools.

I've wanted to write a longer blog post about this, but after a few years of working on SSB I appreciate you highlighting these pain points. I think everyone in the SSB maintainer community feels the same way. My hot take: Scuttlebutt
