I use my Ergodox full-time and I love it, but I feel this way about an Atreus I just picked up: there are only a few keys, and some are inaccessible (!) so I'm stuck putting stuff like colons and quotation marks in a layer. Feels bad.

> But it’s how businesses were always designed to work Who taught you this? If there's a specific historian pushing this narrative I'd love to know who it is, because on the surface this claim sounds absolutely outlandish.

A specific example of what you mean would be great. More comments quoting yourself and refusing to explain what you mean would be not great.

On one hand: sure, anything you can express with an abstraction can be expressed without the abstraction. Some abstractions are unnecessary. On the other hand: this introduces constraints that let you solve a class of problems without givin

That's a surprising claim, how is that measured? I'd love to read the paper you're referencing.

I remember their comment being something to the effect of "I don't understand why people care about a service that tells you about your wealthy ancestors when you're working a minimum wage job". They confused 23andMe, wh

I've flagged your post for being unnecessarily hostile while also being ignorant of the type of features that 23andMe has. Maybe you're thinking of ancestry.com?

Which linter were you using? ESLint/etc doesn't catch errors like that, you need Typescript (which can work on plain JS files as a linter). On the other hand, your example is valid Typescript, although if you use attempt `x + 1`

You can make your own private network that is cryptographically unable to replicate with other networks (like the main net), but I don't think you should ask close friends and family to edit ~/.ssb/config to add a custom SHS

What is "Scalable Secure Scuttlebutt"? I think that should probably just be "Secure Scuttlebutt". Also, would be nice to have Oasis added as a desktop "SSB social app".

Is there a specific metric you're thinking of? My understanding is that income inequality is at an all-time high, and I'd be very surprised if it were worse 10 and 20 years ago. Examples: https://equitablegrowth.org
