There is no "ecosystem" that I can see since the data cannot be shared. Have you seen some examples where its providing value? I truly would like to know if I'm missing out on some great software. I've helped a mid size doctor's office fo

I think maybe the OP is just feeling a bit down today about his college life due to our poor showing against UGA two days ago. ;)

I didn't mean to imply that China factory towns were _worse_ than Dubia. I've lived and worked around them a good bit and I agree its not slavery in the Dubia sense and Chinese certainly have rights and government protections better that m

It certainly seems short sited. I think a good part of the secret sauce for the U.S. is that we allow people/businesses to fail (bankruptcy).

While I certainly would not want to live/work in Dubai, its very difficult to _not_ participate in a system built on slavery/oppression. Have you ever been to the factory cities in Asia where a good bit of your things are made? Have you b

In October, I switched from godaddy to namecheap. It took about 7 weeks to get 16 domains transfered. I left the others for dead. Its quite a process to move from godaddy, lots of unexplained transfer failures. But I'm feeling good that

I agree with your perspective except that for most in his situation any major is the wrong major. Very few know what they want to do with their life. You only find out by lots of exploration. This path extends well beyond college. I have

Here's a few thoughts for you: 1 - I know of no major whose job outside of college resembles what you study. 2 - I went to Georgia Tech, '87-'92. Yep, a long time, as I was a co-op student and had several entrepreneurial jaunts along the w

Its a shame it is such a ghetto. I for one, am happy to pay an independent designer/developer good wages but they're hard to identify through the sea of muck.

I lean the same way in this situation. You may find giving one choice gets better results than making the user think too much.

I use it for closed source work, but I consider it mostly a backup repo. It costs me $7 a month and I feel I get enough value from the many other projects I track to make it pay for itself as a one-stop interface.

I'd recommend going straight to premium with 30-day trial. Its too much work to segment and manage the fremium feature set.

When you finally do have a pre-compiled windows app, sans cygwin, I'll have more clients to refer to tarsnap. One client I'm dealing with now has health care data needing backup. I wouldn't trust other online backup services with this, but

I recommend you adjust your first job step: emailing each day. You should email when you have something to say and not be bound by the rotation of the earth. Other than that, I'd be happy to provide feedback if I'm able.

The lawyer analogy came to my mind as well while reading this article. The "Hollywood" version of a lawyer's duties to his client is narrow and not accurate. There are certainly lawyers that operate on this narrow definition, but its not
