That was my first Mastodon post, too! I was thinking that I was late to the party, but at least we all arrived together!

Half-way through reading the article I descended down a Wikipedia rabbit hole that eventually led me to this article [0] and dreaming of what it would be like to touch a moon rock. Thank you for your story! [0] https://www.nytim

Is there a concern of transferring mass between the Earth and Moon (at scale) and its effect on the movement of the planetary bodies over the very long term? I get that right now, the effect would be infinitesimally small. But some comment

I'm spending my pomodoro break on HN right now! I use the Focus To Do app on my Mac and Android phone. It's a combo to-do list app and pomodoro app. The mobile and desktop apps sync. The feature I like most is creating recurrin

Alternatively: What case could I make in the "exit interview" or whenever the package is being offered to make a counter-offer and have it considered, without necessarily having to secure legal representation?

So, what are some things I should be doing (documenting?) now, as a happy and well-performing at-will US-based employee, so that I can have legal standing for a better "redundancy package" than what is offered, if I'm termina

I always loved the first few lines[0] of "WE WILL ALL GO TOGETHER WHEN WE GO" because I thought the rhyming of some of the words was so creative and I've (still) never heard it done that way anywhere else: ... funeral ... soo

This is so disheartening. I subscribed to and helped perpetuate The Lie. Damn. While we're on this topic, does anyone have info regarding what happens to the plastic bags I return to my local (CA, US) grocery store collection bin? A

Thanks everyone! Feedback here is mixed, some agree, some disagree and some bring up some good edge case ideas. For example, I think it's true that SOME Airpod users sound horrible and others not too bad. So maybe it needs to be addr

I've always said that throwing out a laptop because the battery no longer takes a charge is like selling your car because the tires are bald. This is awesome!

How is my comment the only comment saying: WTF he died at his desk? That's horrible! Then I remember working at an insurance company and someone trying to hang themself in a conference room. I guess that's worse.

Can you say a little more about this? You signed an offer letter in Jan and then you were able to get additional equity? How did moving the start date factor in?
