Disqus user here. Thought I'd try and answer a few of the concerns raised in this post. 1. "Comment display is broken". That's a matter of opinion. I personally prefer threaded comments as I find it easier to see the structure of a conversa

I'd say it certainly appeals to people who can see the advantages of a small tablet computer but don't want to put down $600 on an iPad 2.

This is a big revelation to people? Reminds me of when a friend of mine clicked on "Messages" and was shocked to see IM and Inbox conversations from 2007 with people she no longer knows. I had to say... What did you expect? When did Faceboo

Tangentially related, but is anybody else really sick of everybody's Spotifys updating their Facebook pages with every track they're currently listening to?

I feel like there's lots of blank space in the main area and everything seems to be cramped into the nav. I feel like somebody like my parents wouldn't know where to click (or even start to look) if they were looking to buy a book.

My thoughts exactly. I can't see this being a big hit with retail music. The main use in my mind would be as PR tools, either sending promotional badges to journalists etc or as novelty items containing already released music to be sold at

So Google may release G+ APIs, and every developer is going to drop Twitter for G+? Come on. Even if they did, who's to say Google won't pull the exact same stunt and leave developers in the cold? Come to think of it, don't you think the im

I've seen the phrase "second class citizen" used a lot recently and I usually think it's a bit over the top. In this case though it seems about right - I'm a total Google fanboy but as an Apps user I'm just not allowed to use their biggest

For some reason I'm now wondering about nomenclature. "Google+" seems kind of unwieldy. Should you call it Google+, Plus, or G+?

Looks like Google Profiles are a no-no for Google Apps users. A shame really since my enthusiasm for this will probably wear off before they sort this out...

No backups. Unreliable uptime. And of course, no self-hosted option. If you invest yourself in your blog and take time out of your life to maintain it properly then it's not unreasonable to expect control over your work. If Tumblr goes down

Without a doubt - look at a band like Tool. I don't mind saying that I torrented every one of their albums. Grew to love them, bought the CDs, went to a dozen of their concerts, spent at least £50 on merchandise over the years.

I think that's a bit of an oversimplification. You can use bittorrent to download and watch a film that's been released on DVD. This deprives the content created of a sale/hire/watch on demand, so in theory they lose out on revenue. You can

Very true. Reminds me of the concept of "churnalism" outlined in Nick Davies' book Flat Earth News [1]. Thanks for the link. Am now off to read that essay. [1] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nick_Davies#Critical_reaction_o...

I hear what you're saying, but I think this experience shows a failure on the part of the Reviews and Feedback section of the ebook store you used. Sure, 99c is a bargain price (and you're right, you think to yourself "what's 99c?") but som

Good question. A Microsoft Developer Evangelist emailed yesterday to say that they actually found it very funny. They've also had about six months to get in touch with me about the domain. Needless to say, they didn't. "Pretty sophomoric, i
