Looks like Apple has a history of removing third party reader apps. See a discussion from a couple years ago on Reddit apps getting nuked: https://www.reddit.com/r/iphone/comments/4edaee/looks_like_t...

I don't really feel like addressing all of your points here but I will say this: You cannot apply for GC or citizenship under TN status.

I didn't say you are, but there is a lot of anti-immigrant rhetoric that purposely overstates the number of immigrants in order to scare people.

There isn't infinite demand, come on. The real REAL solution to this is to raise up the living conditions of people living in poor countries. At that point even if we had open borders not everybody would move to USA/Europe/C

All of the anti-immigrant rhetoric makes people vastly overestimate the number of immigrants there actually are, I suspect.

Yeah the US really needs to completely revamp its immigration system. Not only H1B but GC as well. Take a look at the line for Indians waiting for green cards. It's apparently 150 years long. That is absurd.

Speaking of tourist candy, what's with M&M stores being at all the off-broadway/times square ripoffs in every major city?

I went through this process myself recently and found it to be pretty challenging to understand the differences between the company types - particularly since my french is still pretty weak. This is a great resource though, wish I knew abo

Why are you transcoding all the time? You could probably save your little droplet a bit of heartache by using ffprobe to check if the video is already h264 (or h265)+aac and just do -c copy in that case.

is it just me or does the link to their website not work? Is a non-functional website a good or a bad indicator? Edit: www works, https://thefamily.co doesn't...but the link in the post points to the second one.

Come on... The fault here is with Musk and Tesla. Why should investors be allowed to sue regulating bodies because the bad behavior of their companies results in a loss for them?

i guess it depends on if they have anything to sell...i bet most software startups would have a pretty significant drawdown unless they've made some unique ip that's worth something.

I can't say LinkedIn has added a lot of value to my life. In fact I mostly forget it exists until I remember that I have a linkedin account every few weeks, take a look at it, accept the one connection request I have waiting, and then

Personally I hate performance reviews, but if a formal system doesn't exist people will demand something. In the absence of a system there can be appearances of favoritism and, if the managers aren't disciplined, things like rais

otoh me giving someone 6 figures and having them lose it is much more meaningful to me because: 1. It's my money, not money someone has given to me to invest 2. It's a pretty significant part of my net worth. If I was worth $100
