Unfortunately several European countries consider people with 2 shots unvaccinated by now, and more countries are scheduled to follow that strategy. France, Italy and Austria are the ones I know of. They consider the original 2nd shot to &q

Clickbait nonsense. My advice, life is too short to use tools you don't like (and subsequently makes you complain about it). I personally love python, vim and debian. So that's what I'm using for the past 20 years. If I was f

Very crazy, and unfortunately the example of Germany made my own country (Belgium) decide to commit the same awful mistake, which will be paid in full (in drastically increased CO2 output, enormous energy price increases and dancing to the

Thank you! I don't understand why we're supposed to live in a democracy, except when it comes to mass immigration, on that topic you are not allowed to have an opinion because it makes you a straight up nazi. I live in Brussels an

Better? Half the article is opinion and taste, the other half is simply wrong, as others have described here in detail.

Over here in Belgium we're one of the few countries that have an automatic salary indexation process. So my salary goes up about 3,5% on the first of January to match inflation. Previous indexation adjustment was about 1% a year ago. I

Thank you for putting this into words. Wayland solves problems I never had, while creating new ones at the same time. I'll stick to Xorg + openbox for as long as I can.

Agreed. The Quake scene has been very vibrant for 25 years now, even increasing in quantity AND quality of maps and mods in recent years. I always have quakespasm-spiked installed on all of my computers and play new and old maps weekly. DOP

Why does the article get flagged twice in a row? The author seems to have a point. It pains me to see the direction that the woke hysteria is heading us all in, contaminating newspapers, literature, Hollywood, politics and now even math edu

I have used strictly Nvidia gpus, on debian Linux, for 20 years, using the binary drivers, and I have none of the issues you describe. It just works, very well, stable and fast. Xorg is an amazing piece of software and combined with openbox

Wayland solves problems that I don't have, while introducing new ones (my Nvidia GPU isn't well supported, remote X doesn't exist and none of the wm's I love support it, like openbox). So I'll stay on Xorg for as lo

Exactly, Debian has you covered depending on your needs. I run Debian Stable on servers and Debian Sid on my desktop and laptop. Had 2 or 3 non-booting Sid systems over the course of 20 years, none or which weren't solved in 10 minutes

As a 20+ years Debian user I've never seen the added value of Ubuntu. Why use a derivative if you can get the real thing?

My experience installing several tools that are built on nodejs has led me to the conclusion that I will simply not use something if it's made with nodejs. I'm not installing 127 dependencies just to get some tiny CLI tool to run.
