This is less true every day. Facebook-specific companies like Zynga, Playdom, etc. have huge ad spends on Facebook. Facebook ads are also valuable for highly localized companies like Groupon, because you get fine-grained demographic contro

The last comment here got me downvoted; not sure why. When I read it I was 50/50 as to whether he was being sarcastic or not. I guess I came down on the wrong side. :)

I have a hard time reconciling your desire to be "the most sought-after, and value-added, angel investor in the world" and the huge shit you just took on Sam's head -- in public, no less. This AFTER you forwarded a confidential email to a t

This isn't not delegating. Not delegating would be installing yourself as a manager of an underperforming store, say. Instead, this is an application of Genchi Genbutsu. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Genchi_Genbutsu

It's not stupid. It's rational. You're lamenting the fact that the market is demanding games that you, as a craftsman, think are crap. Crappity crap crap. On the other hand, if you make one of these simple, crappy games and it is success

My response to this sentiment is: STFU, then, and make one of these crappy games. Then you'll have millions of dollars to make whatever kind of other awesome games you'll want forever and ever.

That's technically true, but not quite what I was thinking. Let's define Xooglers as people who were pre-IPO at Google. Or even just people who didn't originally come to Google through the acquisition of another company. How about in that

Small product nit: I think you weight older messages too highly. #1 on my list is my girlfriend (cool). #2 is my co-founder from my last company (also cool). #3 is my dad. #4 is my ex-girlfriend, and it's telling me to email her (fail).

Seems no-risk to me. Put up an order form, play with pricing and DVD contents, etc. DVDs are easy to make and you can take orders before shipping. If you only get 10 orders, burn 'em, mail 'em, and shut down the service as a failure.
