Financial service companies will want to advertise where their customers are. Pitching them before you have traction will just get you the question, "Ok, how many leads can you send us?" But let's say you do and get 20 signed up as adverti

I just looked through my wallet and Amex, Visa, MasterCard, and Discover all have the same date format, and for MasterCard three are from separate issuing banks, one of which is a debit card. Not questioning you, but what's the rule? Do yo

Other (small) changes I'd make: 1. Don't say "sign up" -- say something like "Join free." In any case say something that indicates value to the consumer vs. signing up, which indicates value to the site owner. 2. For the signup button use

Just so people understand, Google is not happy that sites like Sugar, Inc.'s http://www.shopstyle.com/ are taking a chunk of commerce search away from them. I'm sure it's all the more frustrating when they're building ad networks on top o

Yes, they are definitely paying that much (or more). Groupon and Zynga are responsible for increasing the CAC via Facebook ads by 2-3x over the last year and a half.

The typical arrangement with such law firms is that payment is deferred until your first round of financing. Of course, to get such a deal you probably need an introduction. Catch 22!

In two words: distribution and monetization. That's all that matter, period. This is why Facebook kicked OpenSocial's fragmented and poorly implemented ass, and why the iPhone developer ecosystem is more robust than its Android counterpart

Reed's law follows from the fact that a set has 2^N possible subset. So it's a statement about how group membership affects the dynamics of a social network. There are O(N^2) possible connections, which is related to Metcalfe's law.
