Effort is not commonly enough to validly claim copyright. A creative spark is required. So it depends on how rule oriented the photographers worked. E.g. Straight scan of painting hard to defend. Photo of 3d sculpture with interesting backg

Tables with seats and white table linen and at table service. Better food options than TGV Lyria which I have recent experience with.

Yes, and the Swiss restaurant cars are even nicer in the long distance trains. I often end up eating or at least having a drink when I travel with them.

Firefox can do this for the css files, which I use quite often. Never thought about the HTML side as that is in templates anyway.

Genève and many Swiss towns does this. Bus tickets are from a machine (sometimes in the bus, otherwise at the stop) or SMS or app. Most locals have an yearly pass. Fare control is done by six or seven controllers getting on the bus at once.

Many people don't know about JShell which was added in JDK9. That make it easy to write "scripts" in java.

My experience with UniProt.org where some requests generate responses dynamically generated gigabytes in size. This is roughly 400x more expensive, assuming response equivalence.

In this case it is Azul Zing, a very serious product. It's one of the four major VM Jit compilers (OpenJ9, C2, Graal are the others in my opinion) [1] https://www.azul.com/products/zing/

Yeah, but not all organisms use the same translation. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/Taxonomy/taxonomyhome.html/inde... So an unnamed function without argument might easily give the wrong thing.

Parsing the flatfile of Swiss-Prot in detail is the best way to lose your sanity ;) I know because that is part of my day job. It's gotten better but I highly recommend you either use the RDF or XML. The flatfile looks easy but is an e

If you are in Bio the SPARQL usecase is just so nice. I work on the sparql.uniprot.org and others at SIB. Being able to federate without a hassle is such a powerful thing for research.

I especially like to use jstack (well not like) but it really helps to figure out the issues when a process seems to be hanging. And you can even use it as a brute profiler, doing manual sampling and correlation.
