The important bit is that it is a graph database. Property or rdf is a small difference not that important compared to all the other details that go into designing a graph database.

It is behind and easy to flick switch called: su or sudo. The claim is that systemd should add a second switch because the first one is "not enough" that the systemd devs disagree with. There are more operations that root can do t

It is the linux kernel who does that. Systemd just mounts what the kernel exposes. You can't be all unixy and everything is a file, without file systems. I think the blame is put on the wrong party here. Systemd mounts efifs so that on

Probably not yet. But I am sure that they are looking at this option that was used by JRuby+Truffle: http://chrisseaton.com/rubytruffle/cext/ . Where they use the same technique but then on C. Although I heard that

You can get most of this with the gpl2 plus classpath exception at the university of linz site. Or the relevant openjdk repository. the other version has autovectorisation and this graal.js. But the team hopes to opensource that too. So onc

The great team keeps on surprising me in nice ways. If this js and java integration works as nice as demonstrated we could use a js frontend on our java backend without going via json objects over the wire but in one process.

Even worse, with partial evaluation or escape analysis it might still be non allocating to use a substring call today. So the thing about advanced compilers in the java world is that they use defined behaviour(results) to do optimisations.

For java it depends, it seems these days that not copying is a bigger performance issue than copying. So the recent openjdk builds have substring do a copy of the underlying char array. Which can change again. Other JVMs of course are free

In this specific case yes, but so is the await await as shown at https://youtu.be/4OCUEgSNIAY?t=3545 in your linked talk. The nice thing is that join is recursive in the quicksort example and that means its equivalent to th

In non RT java this is nearly impossible. The best way is to use a specific allocated off memory byte buffer and zero it once done. But GC/deallocation and JIT compilation will fight your zeroing attempts, and it can easily break exist

There is no need to call join more than once in a work stealing pipeline, join is the terminal operation. In other words it rather similar to future.get(), it is a synchronisation point; which yes is amdalhs law target. Futures and workstea

I am very supportive of the idea in general. I think that the author underestimates some of the reasons for the diversity in the data sources schemas etc... They are different often because of the data being different. The linked data/

You would need to synchronize less often and that can be big benefit performance wise. i.e. you can tolerate more partitions without effects. If done right and in some cases you can have the same benefits as UUIDs with smaller keysizes. Aft

Really good comment. I would also add that even if you are a developer now that does not limit your college option to just CS. You can pick an other major so that you are diversified in skills.
