It is a quad-core ARM Cortex A7 with an Imagination PowerVR 544 GPU, so, yes, it is a low power, low cost, low performance device. But why would you think MTK is comitting any intellectual property violations with the design?

Both are from a linguistic perspective obviously correct since 'native' speakers use both pronunciations. Linguistics isn't prescriptive in that way, you cannot use it to say that a minority is pronouncing something wrong.

This is true for LLVM bitcode in general, but PNaCl specifies an abstract machine that defines pointers as 4 bytes long. It also specifies Little Endian &c. See http://www.chromium.org/nativeclient/pnacl/bitcode-abi#TOC-D...

How is this different from the Exynos 5 Octa which is sold as an 8-core CPU but with only 4 Cortex A15 cores?

While I think the code is cool, why we can do this is just because we have waited 20 years. A MPEG1 decoder can run in software on a reasonable ARM9 core from 15 years ago, and desktop processors from 20 years ago can probably do it as well

If your code is using OpenMP, and this library is faster than your current OpenMP runtime, then using it might speed your code up a bit.

I haven't taken a look at the actual programs, but given the nature of the benchmarks the result can probably be interpreted as 'numpy is still quite fast' also?

It was originally developed for a Microsoft internal Intel i860 workstation, that's also from where the name NT comes from.

Music Hack Day and similar events are great way to meet people, no one expects a product (maybe sometimes there are?) but only a nice weekend to meet similar minded developers. I am quite convinced that the companies who sponsor are more li

Point 5 seems like dangerous advice, shortening types (especially floating-point types) without analysis isn't a good idea and especially not a deadly sin. Changing doubles to floats can give a significant performance boost (mainly on ARM w

Try it, it really does work. Some people assume you know everything about every disease known to man as soon as you wear one. I have also noticed that people are a lot more likely to ask you for directions while wearing one too.

While I agree that Java sucks, a lot of us still require Java for web sites that we need. In Sweden for example a few banks still use it for 'secure' login.

Yet another post that underestimates the importance on NaN, it isn't 'WTF' at all if you understand its design. Sure, the naming in ES makes it a bit silly since NaN is a number, but it is something you only have to see once to understand.

I think as many developers have been waiting for dtrace on Linux, which imho is a lot nicer. It is mostly a question of what you're used to. To some extent the raw dtrace interface is a lot more powerful than Instruments though, so unfortun

If Youtube doesn't work in Youtify, you probably have some sort of flash blocker installed. If you don't, a bug report would be appreciated. ( https://github.com/youtify/youtify )

It seems even less bad imho, it's probably that all cards with an AMD reference design will get an update. But vendors with vendor-specific hardware might not provide an updated BIOS that works with those cards?

I didn't read it as arguing against C, just noting that there seems to be a lot of commonality between the ways the code in the Mars rovers are designed, and the way that robust Erlang applications are typically designed.

Except that TM2 is vastly superior in almost every way to the original, it might be 'too late' but it is a great editor. Perhaps TM2 was possible as a series of small changes, maybe it wasn't. But I think we should be grateful for the time

If p and q are aliased (pointing to the same location), you would assign twice to the same pointer between two consecutive sequence points, which is undefined in C.

Does Firefox need to be saved? Chrome isn't bad, and it has a huge amount of marketing dollars behind it, and it gains market share because of it. But does Firefox need a 100% market share, 50%, 30? Firefox exists, it makes the web better a
