It might incorrectly tell you the weather is hot, so you walk out with just a t-shirt, then freeze to death.

Yeh, at least provide a command-line method of installing it. If you're the type to install ssh, I'm guessing you're not a typical Windows user who is horrified by the command-prompt.

Downloading putty.exe (or executing on a USB or share) is less invasive than installing the OpenSSH client feature.

I agree - cmd.exe is quite usable, especially considering it's (almost) always available no matter what machine you use. Why they're trying to replace it with Powershell rather than improving cmd.exe is silly, however.

Web apps are running on another computer. Windows and OEM software/drivers are on the local machine. In a restaurant, I expect other people to see what I eat. In my own house, I don't.

I think their argument of not being allowed to copy Netflix content (to watch later) is flawed. They're the equivalent of the video rental shops from the 80s/90s - we weren't allowed to rent a movie and copy it to watch aft

I agree. I started programming at ~12 (early 90s). My jobs where limited until I went to uni (graduated at 29). The actual coding taught at uni was minimal and outdated, and I wouldn't trust some graduates with a calculator. If you

Hah, you're joking, right? One of the main (non-technical) reasons I've switched to Linux is to not be dictated to by a single entity, who has their own ideas (and motivations) on how I should by using my own computer.

Just what I was looking for. All I wanted to do was change a request header for one host. After ~15 minutes I now have a transparent MITM https proxy - and I didn't even have to google the openssl command. Edit: Also, the documentation

I also believe that is true. My reason being, I had adjusted the screen brightness using software - but the mouse cursor is still brighter than white anywhere else. When I dragged a window, the cursor turns dim.

Agreed. However, the punishment shouldn't just be financial, otherwise it will just be risk-assessed. How about a ban on the data collection for a period, or lose the ability to use it.

This should be a good thing. Hopefully now that the non-tech people are moving away from traditional PC/laptop, this trend of dumbing down for the "average user" (read: lowest common denominator) can be stopped.
