Sacha, I am a fan of yours and usually like your material, but I just can't agree here. You took so much for granted in this post. Deploying a website that 10,000 people will see is not trivial, whether you personally did it or not. Here's

Yeah for me the CEO's response is the absolute worst part about this... very aggressive and defensive, he could have just said sorry we should have asked. And they definitely should have - I'm sure the author wouldn't have said no. In fact,

Yeah... I'm not super surprised by this really. Initially it looked fine, but the more I looked at the design and way the site worked, the more I realized it was really questionable in quality. For example: - "Infographics are 30 to 40 time

Yeah this is exactly what I thought when I read this. There's no excuse to act like a dick, and he totally is in this thread - name calling and being super angry when nobody else is. I'm a little disappointed.

You're totally right. I have a mixin that makes a bubble like that too, but it's built from a few different mixins that each build on each other and I didn't want to post a buttload of code in a comment. You can see an example of how mine l

Yeah I actually prefer stylus to sass personally, sass is just more popular (and rails default) and less magical for people that don't work with css as often. My favorite feature actually is that it can grab properties out of parents, as de

For sure - are you thinking tighter integration with social networks like fb and twitter? This definitely has a lot of potential, but I bet they would need to work out some agreements with the social networks themselves to be able to do it

There's no hive mindset here - I just looked at the page, noticed that it had really poor and sloppy design, and assumed that it was a poor and sloppy product. It's called 'judging a book by it's cover' and is something that everyone does a

Wow, really surprised this was downvoted. Perhaps it came off as too judgmental and arrogant - if that's the case I very much apologize - didn't intend it to be like that. Just a little tough love : ) I thought people here valued polish and

It's crazy that there was so much investment for such a simple idea. I mean the entire product is just a thin wrapper around Stripe. He must have some really serious plans to move in a new direction in order to attract that much interest an

While I think Alex is super smart and usually thoroughly enjoy his writing, I strongly disagree with this post for one reason - the way he looks to hire completely disregards learning, adaptation, and growth in a potential hire, and this is

I can't tell if this is serious or not... I mean it's on msdn so I assume it is? It strikes me as very strange that the article goes "look how gorgeous the theme looks" and then shows screenshots below that clearly look terrible...

Justifying design decisions is often extremely difficult. Although there is a science buried deep behind design decisions, unlike programming, design decisions are often very subjective and opinion-based in a debate, unless you have done A/
