I've never seen an option to choose the liability cover on insurance, I didn't know it was a thing. I just checked my policy and it is up to $20 million NZ ($12M US) per event. How much do you pay for car insurance in the US? Mine

What if you want to buy the best ship? Not necessarily the cheapest, but the safest/biggest/most efficient? But you're forced by this law to only buy from one or two companies - they have little reason to compete on those ele

I believe the idea is not that companies were being funded by loans. It's that investors couldn't get a return on savings, so all the money they would normally have in saving like deposits was invested elsewhere, into the VCs for

I've got 3 kids. They're a bit older now, but I felt that each additional one was a lot less work than the first. The third copied the behaviours of the older ones and became independent that much faster.

While I do not necessarily disagree with the author, I really dislike the term magic. It's not magic, it's added abstraction layers. Usually you can peel those back and look underneath. We've been adding abstraction layers si

I think I can answer your question. We don't use our logical thinking capacity for much decision making. Most of these decisions are forced on us by external factors, often social/experience. For example, shoplifting - I would nev
