Could it be said that in order to gain the technology and production methods of a cleaner, more efficient energy source we must expend energy from dirty and inferior sources first? It seems to be the case; we go after the low hanging fruit

Perhaps you would like Annotate ( https://github.com/roomkey/annotate ). Type annotation checking in development, but no overhead in production.

Not really to prepare, but during your first weeks identify the best programmers there and look through their commits. Books, tutorials, etc are good, but nothing like seeing how a good programmer writes code and solves problems on a day to

To say that Facebook uses PHP and MySQL is to leave out the truth, honestly. They are a part of the stack, yes, but they aren't what makes the application scale to billions of requests. It would be like saying the local coffee shops we

Developer edition is not out yet... I thought. I got one a couple months ago and run Arch on it. Support for the microphone hasn't made it into a kernel release yet, so I thought they were waiting for that to release the developer edit

One thing to remember in high write environments: if you're storing a uuid attribute and it's indexed, use datomics squuid (sequential uuid). Rewriting the indexes will go MUCH faster and prevent latency spikes on queries.

I've been using it for years in production now. Hell, there was a strangeloop talk about our use of it. We're using Dynamo for storage. I found working with Datomic really nice. I like how I can express queries using clojure. It a

To be clear, I meant the current unionized group of mods who staged the major sub strike in that statement. I'm not suggesting there shouldn't be moderators.

Exactly. Just walk away and make it someone else's problem. Someone is always there to fill their shoes. I suspect that being a "mod" boosts one's internet ego and letting go makes you just a "pleb user" again.

AMA worked fine before all the organization and planning of celebrity appearances. If you're a celebrity or politician or whatever, just hop on, make a post, message a mod for verification or post something to twitter and have at it. T

As someone who has been using reddit for nearly a decade, I can't help but find this whole thing to be completely absurd. Mods are claiming they're the backbone of the whole site, which is complete nonsense. It's the internet

Since they're using the upfront pre-order money to cover manufacturing costs, I would bet enough feedback from customers (or even speculative customers) asking for a 30 min minimum would have enough impact for them to source different

This is most likely the answer. There's a non-trivial cost for bringing foreign workers into the US and they are probably much less likely to consider it given that this is an internship opportunity and not something full-time.

I suffer from the same weakness as you. I always have. I also love my profession, programming, more than anything I've ever done in my life. Also, like you, when I get into the flow of something, I do it better than most people I know.

Exactly. Not to mention that in any large scale system your functional and integration tests are the most useful for producing high quality software than simply having static types.
