When will people give up this archaic practice of sending patches over emails?

No and it shouldn’t. You can just run a proxy with a real domain and a real cert and then use dns rewrites to point that domain to a local host For example you can use nginx manager if you want a ui and adguard for dns. Set your router to u

The resolution is now a marketing tactic. People don’t understand how high fidelity 4k is because they get 10mbps Faux K streams on Netflix. They cannot conceptualize watching a 4k UHD rip on a 160” screen.

“Only” is doing a lot of heavy lifting here. The pc market is a tiny minority of customers. Most of the real volume is sadly just a soundbar plus a tv plus some device like Apple TV. The majority of the market by dollar is ultra high end se

No the real answer is TV manufacturers are not allowed to use DP per their licensing. I’m not sure DP supports the media features hdmi does like CEC

I look forward to seeing this in consumer devices in 2040 plus the usual fiasco of defective AVR chips for the first generation. Are 90% of features still optional? You can be hdmi 2.1 compliant without VRR, QMS, etc.

Nope I can output 4k just fine. That’s not the issue. The issue is I want a 2.35:1 aspect resolution. I can do this on windows and nvidia but not on Linux (steam deck, intel nuc, etc)

It’s astounding to me that in Linux, in 2025, I can’t just simply output a custom resolution. You are probably typing a response right now with some xrandr nonsense and I PROMISE you, it won’t do it. I can’t even scale my screen within a no

No it’s not. It would just remove protections of 230. That means HN can’t hide behind 230 if they don’t action on illegal content (and that doesn’t seem to be a problem) Anything else is just a slippery slope fallacy

Talking freely and Reddit don’t belong in the same sentence. Go say something that goes against the zeitgeist. It doesn’t have to be political go express support for the wrong celebrity or cause or opinion on shoes even. It’s a cesspool of

I agree. It’s fun to just write code to solve problems or even for fun. I love go (it’s the best all around language and it’s not even close) so for fun I wrote a game engine and a small game that I might try to turn into an actual game. It

It’s time to rip off the bandaid and force everyone to get on the bandwagon. What’s a single reason to keep 32 bit packages? It’s dragging Linux down in general to have such zealotry about compatibility with things built in 1994

I’m not trolling I care about the environment. Cotton bags are just a form of moral licensing and predatory ways to get more income. Same with plastic straws.

And instead we kill a lot more trees and plants to make expensive cotton or polyester bags that are much worse for the environment as a whole. It’s typical left leaning feel good logic instead of actually improving something. Not to mention

It’s not “freely available” it’s available with ads. You are just circumventing the ads which is akin to piracy. I’m not making a moral judgement but at least be honest about it. You are trying to consume nonfree content without paying anyt
