Yep. What I left unstated, which I now realize the lack of leaves my comment ambiguous, was "and that's why they use it."

This needs an asterisk (and I'll include one of my own: IANAL). In the United States, impersonation is regulated by the states and not consistent across them, but in general this is only true when using impersonation to commit fraud, d

Being a buzzkill doesn't make it less true, though. I'm disappointed to see the parent comment being downvoted.

I think an explanation like this one would be a great start. A few sentences about the purpose of registration would go a long way. Also, nice site. :)

I'm no longer there, but I was at Red Hat for three years and change after the acquisition by IBM was first announced. At least through my time there, this couldn't be further from the truth. Red Hat was operated at a completely i

I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you're referring to as Alphabet, is in fact, Google/Alphabet, or as I've recently taken to calling it, Google plus Alphabet.

Would you mind expounding upon this comment? Against what goal did it fail to deliver? I think I was more hopeful a decade ago than I am now that we'd see more decentralized manufacturing and more home-grown innovation, but I'm no

Yeah, it does. To be clear, I'm only referring to the license of the files themselves. In absence of a patent or trademark, the "system" is effectively unlicensed. So, "free" might be a better descriptor anyway.

Two comments, unrelated. 1) I love the Gridfinity system and have printed several drawers worth of organizers using parts I've found in this system. 2) It's not actually open source, though. Almost every part I've found, espe

Is it? For me, I'm in tech but nowhere near anything for which playing with a new SD release would be relevant to my day job. Having a couple of extra days off to play with a new tech toy probably means I'll use it more.
