Great article! I had a similar set up using zsh and fzf but recently switched to https://atuin.sh/ and can't recommended it enough. It just works and I love the default built in search by current directory vs global.

I love yabai and use it every day. It’s the only Mac OS is tolerable for me vs Linux with a WM. I am sad though that you lose a good chunk of functionality without disabling SIP, which isn’t allowed for work devices

I’m a student and in our CS department professors can test our code with valgrind and for formatting with Gradescope. I’m not sure how it works in practice but it’s an option if you are interested.
