Yes for sure, but there’s just less friction when running it on native Ubuntu. Especially with GUI applications with 3D acceleration, think rViz showing large 3D maps.

This might sound like heresy, but how's Linux support on existing surfaces? This looks like a pretty attractive laptop, but I'd like to have the option to run linux for ROS stuff.

Any difference there is will depend on the individual, and all in all they're pronounced very similarly if not exactly the same.

You're wrong about the pronunciation. It's exactly the same, and not pronounced coke at all. Signed a native french speaker.

Bit is pronounced like bite (i.e. cock) in french, Byte is pronounced as in english (although Octet is used too). At least that's how I say it.

Is this trying to imply that it would be surprising for a pothead to take a quantum mechanics class? Cause, having hung out with plenty of physicists, that wouldn’t surprise me too much... :P

I’m very skeptical about achieving FSD in the next few years, but I don’t think your giving them enough credit. Even if you’re limiting yourself to a known city, you still have to deal with human drivers and pedestrians doing weird shit all

The future I want includes competent journalists being paid and websites that aren’t filled by garbage ads and nagging. Not saying paywalls are nice, but what is the future you want?

Absolutely agree! My points were more about the benefits of running code on your own machine rather than in the cloud or on a cluster. I don’t own an M1, but if I did I wouldn’t want to use it to train models locally... When on my laptop I

Coding somewhat locally is a must for me too because the cluster I have access to has pretty serious wait times (up to a couple hours on busy days). Imagine only being able to run the code you’re writing a few times a day at most! Iterative

Not so sure about that. Here’s two things you can do (assuming you’re not training huge transformers or something). 1. Test your code with super low batch size. Bad for convergence, good for sanity check before submitting your job to a supe

There absolutely are cameras on board, and yes they are used for navigation. My original question relates more to bandwidth, storage and processing limitation which may mean that we won’t see high quality 30 FPS video.

I am incredibly excited for this. Can believe how nervous the control engineers must be for this. Not sure what quality of the footage to expect from this.

Less buggy in my experience. My Sony’s software is pretty buggy, and the experience is overall poorer than my previous setup of dumb + chromecast. Plugging a chromecast is doable of course but it feels silly since I can cast directly to the

If I understand correctly, you're claiming that we __must not__ censor child pornography? Isn't prosecution a form of censorship anyways? I think what you're saying is a textbook example of a slippery slope fallacy.

Of course the risk to the college student is low (although I call bullshit on your 10 times because you probably made that up). Catching the virus does not merely concern yourself; you spread it around everywhere you go if you’re infected.

This doesn’t solve the issues of stuff like Bugzilla, plus these mirror only offer a fraction of what GitHub truly offers (issues, CI, pull requests with nice interface). Basically, if you think your home grown infra sucks, a GitHub mirror
