I'm not saying tiered pricing is bad, or that expensive tickets are bad. I as a fan may not like it, but, I get it. I can grok that. It's one thing to trade in goodwill for money. To insinuate fans should be happy about it, or that this sim

I'm one of those people who enjoyed reading the long emails. It's easy to believe HE wrote them, and there's an appeal to that. But I find it hilarious that, after that long email, he mentions they'll be sending a TL;DR version later. I hav

In the US copyright includes the right to make copies. As an individual you do not have the right to freely make copies for yourself. That's reproduction, and is expected to get you in trouble. The idea that "it's legal to download, just no

I totally get what you're saying, and of course companies do things for PR, but typically events like these are not only about the competition, but also about raising awareness, showing women in male dominated areas "hey look, women do this

With the registration page having a picture of Pyro and the text "We're your new family now.", part of me is thinking it's a TF2 cartoon. That'd be quite fun, and new territory for Valve.

I like this idea. Maybe even things like Jonothan Coulton's cruises and conventions. A full fledged travel agent for the like minded. Or hire one and you just do the site and take a cut. Also have a kids section where you list youth tech su

My first thought was a 4square like site with "geeky categories" for check-ins. You get more points the geekier your check-in is. A large national museum gets you some points, a local museum gets you more. Same with big city vs small rural

I find it really troubling that in a time when people want to be connected and informed like never before (and have the technology to be so) so many in smaller news organizations try to be every thing to all people, and end up failing spect

Sorry. I didn't see this reply. I don't thing spending money on marketing (or other things that research) is "wrong", I only tried to curtail what I typically see of cries as "Oh, but they spend so much money on R&D!" "So much" is relat

As someone who produced a local tv newscast for five years, I largely agree, though not completely. You do need enough larger scope news for people to feel informed and educated, but it's clearly a secondary concern, you're right. If I had

Both iPhones and Androids can both be set into TTY mode. This allows you to use them with traditional TTY machines you still have to spend a hundred bucks on, and is generally a stationary unit in the home (though not always.). This doesn't
