If you see a film that no one else has seen, you'll spend all your time telling others about it, and to go see it. Despite film viewing being a largely solitary experience, even when holding a girlfriend's hand watching a movie... It's stil

Oh, agreed. Just the thought of politicians calling people names is so crazy to me, is all.

And let's not forget the damage ICE does not only by taking down legit websites, but by refusing to act within their own procedures by not giving the seized domains in a timely manner. http://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/news/2011/12/ice-ad

I'd like to have seen him make a comment to the effect of "really? Name calling? Are these people not aware of the names people call politicians?"

As a job hunter I've had people ask where I currently lived. At least once the reaction did sound like they were thinking "why would someone from South Georgia want a job with a popular website? They have the Internet?" I don't think it inf

Joshua Morse did a wonderful Mega Man album on OC Remix, I recommend it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FqaiuA776Mo That said, I wouldn't consider this HN worthy, but thanks.

I can't wait for a complete reworking of the game, and this is great for emulation (and for the fun), but surely someone somewhere has long ago created an open framework allowing for different versions to be made, akin to Mugen?

Hi, I'm Jeff. I'd like to get into a job working with media, maybe writing to some degree (maybe your company produces in-house videos like KickStarter awesomely does? Or needs podcasts?) I've five years of experience in journalism, produci

I absolutely agree with #2. A "passive public" that would "make a public post that only appears in additionally selected circles, and on your profile." Sure, it's a "power user" feature, but don't those drive social sites?

While I get what you're saying, without threading people (in my circles, at least) tend to post in a conversationally progressing manner. Without threading it wouldn't look like a conversation at all, it would be, well, what you said. YouTu

I have to agree with you. If any film needs a special edition, it's this, not Star Wars or E.T. Honestly? I may even be up for a 3d conversion... If anyone's able to do them well?

I borrowed many dozens of thousands in student loans. I did not graduate, and on top of that, let my skills deteriorate. The come back is something of a work in progress. I think it's in that "getting worse before it gets better" phase of t

I think you're absolutely correct to sum it up as "opportunity". When people complained that "Occupy" lacked a coherent message, I would say "the Tea Party connotations that through taxes and regulation the government curtails the liberty p

Tab. The tab key should first take me to the most important clickable (or text-entry) part of your page. If you don't do this... It's not the "I'm not angry, I'm just disappointed" routine. It's both. I'm both angry AND disappointed.

Exactly; the 2008 Obama campaign spent $760M -- not an amount of money I expect Mr. Obama to make back in his lifetime. It's not about money made while in office. Now, you try to change the pay of every member of CONGRESS to ~40K... Then ma

For some people, work is solely a way to pay bills; those who work to live, not live to work. I also think it's reasonable that while some people do like to be their own boss, others may prefer to be soldiers in an army (those on the front
