It only concerns file format right? I interpreted the preceding conversation as talking about format in the sense of data having the same schema and maybe being interoperable, and not just file format. Nothing I read seems to indicate that

For actual numbers motivating this change, refer to [0]: > Systems used for computer gaming in California consumed 4.1 terawatt-hours/year in 2016 or $700 million in energy bills, with emissions of 1.5 million tons carbon dioxide-eq

Translation mine: According to Bloomberg, ByteDance's 2020 ad revenue was 183.1B RMB [US$28B, seems to be from

Extremely minor nit, but it should be point out that Japan is cost efficient because they've mostly built out their "easy" terrain, especially for Tokaido line (the current Tokyo-Osaka line). The Shin-Hakodate to Sapporo exte

Very great points that I didn't think about, and I agree with all of them, especially the idea for a full width bike lane.

This is perhaps a silly question from a pedestrian/driver, but why exactly is this bad for cyclists? From the article: > It is really surprising if you go on the road and see something foreign, and it’s coming at you at 15 miles per

Not sure why CNN chose to say March here, but the report (and CNN's own article that was linked in the quote!) was from Dec 2020 [1]. The CDC also studied this in 2018-2019, but they didn't produce a theory [2]. [1] https:/&

I'm sure that the recent shooting of their FedEx colleagues in Indianapolis is on the USPS's mind as well, and I wouldn't be surprised if UPS and DHL tries to monitor social media as well.

Seconding the "turning _current_ devices into useful devices" sentiment too. My Samsung T720 (Tablet S5e) had 15-20GB main storage capacity with the stock ROM's partition scheme, but 50GB with LineageOS. Absolutely ridiculous

Many commenters offered reasons to like 60%, but as a TKL enthusiast myself, I'm inclined to think that it's mostly a supply issue, because I've seen many 75% and TKL group buys get a ton of demand. 60% is just easier to mach
