You'll find a lot of the tech scene (in Edinburgh at least) go to Tech Meetup[0] every 2nd Wednesday of the month, and you'll soon hear who's hiring in the introduction go-around. Hell, it's a rare occasion when neither

Surely you could just install Python3 and pip systemwide, then ask virtualenv/virtualenvwrapper to use that one? virtualenv -p $(which python3) ENV # with virtualenv mkvirtualenv [-a project path] -

I didn't terribly mind having to use Twitter for signup. As soon as you asked for my email AS WELL, I could no longer be bothered to click through - the only value of 3rd-party login is not having to give you my email address.

Isn't that scheme similar to the one Aaron Swartz proposed, and Lawrence Lessig is campaigning for? EDIT: I think it was called [Change Congress]( http://change-congress.org/ ), but that URL now redirects to [Rootstriker

Wow, I'm not sure which I'm more impressed by - the fact that you actually went and built a prototype distributed-internet browser (an application these sorts of services keep alluding to, without one actually existing), or that i

I'm just gonna say that by far the best features, for me, are the "Goodies" (had to look that up[1]) which let you query other services through the same interface. For example, `!wa ...` will query Wolfram Alpha, `!m {locatio

Wait, I'm confused. You express disbelief at the recommendation of a book against intelligent-design, but you seem to end your comment in the opposite tone: > ...yet, these all are strong evidence there is no designer beyond it all.

Reports indicate that the original DPR retired to Patagonia 15 years ago, and has been living like a king ever since.

Great work, and I can't wait for plugins to arrive! This should be the next great text-editor once it's open-sourced - I'm too young to bother with vim/emacs, and a bit too poor to buy Sublime Text, great though it is! T

But surely you must have enough connectivity for a key-exchange to take place (most of the time) if you're able to receive push notifications in the first place?

So, the problem is that the app itself can't run (reliably) in the background to respond to key-exchange requests? It looks like iOS apps aren't allowed network connections when in the background[0]. So would another platform with

And what would be your approach to spam-filtering? One of Google Mail's strengths is that it can use data from millions of accounts' emails to train its spam-filter. Do you see Mailpile offering some way to do the same thing in th

Are there any plans to help make setting up your own mailserver easier? That seems to be the main challenge for anyone who wants to self-host right now.

I'm super-happy that someone is at last trying to build a self-hosted competitor to Gmail. Sure, I can set up my own mailserver already, but the amount of effort it takes is too much compared to just setting up a Gmail account. If they
