Same here. As a compiled language, I find Zig super productive. There's neither "magic" nor an accumulation of abstraction layers. As a result, when there's a bug in my code, I can quickly understand what's going on

Unfortunately, cbmc that it depends on is way too slow for analyzing more than tiny trivial functions.

Anything written in Zig or Go. Both languages are extremely readable, even when looking at unfamiliar code. The Zig standard library is small, yet covers a lot of common tools and structures. Every file contains implementations of one parti

Presumably, some malware have been trying to exploit this: https://www.techrepublic.com/article/spectre-and-meltdown-fl... I've never seen them in the wild.

Zig can also target WebAssembly (standalone and WASI), so you don't need to download and install yet another LLVM toolchain, or fiddle with libclang_rt.builtins-wasm32.a.

"Browser not supported - We currently don't support Safari for the visual editor" Sad :( I'm not going to use a special web browser just for one web application.

To compile code to WebAssembly with SIMD instructions, just use the generic+simd128 CPU target: zig cc -Ofast --target=wasm32-wasi -mcpu=generic+simd128 example.c zig c++ -Ofast --target=wasm32-wasi -mcpu=generic+simd128 example.

The choice to ignore or reject non-null trailing padding bits is really implementation dependent. Python and Zig reject invalid padding. PHP's base64_decode() function accepts it, but the sodium_base642bin() function doesn't. Sinc

Yeah :( Ever since I switched to an M1, I haven't found a way to reliably build and run x86_64 containers on it. Docker desktop with Qemu is not just painfully slow, it's also very buggy and some containers just can't be buil

ELF, COFF, Mach-O, etc. objects can already be linked together regardless of the compiler producing them.

When targeting WASI or for standalone (no wasi, no emscripten) WebAssembly, Zig is currently the best option, IMHO. Modules are small and fast, virtually all existing code is compatible out of the box and the standard library comes with ful

I too miss the days where I could use "telnet 80" to interact with a web server. And when a website could be made by writing simple HTML/CSS code, and hosted anywhere, even by your own ISP. Yes, HTTP has become a monstrosity.

Doesn't really apply to HTML. Using indentation instead of XML-like opening and closing tags is way more concise, and encodes exactly the same information.

rc got compromised as well. Curious to know if the authors had 2FA enabled and how they got compromised. And if they didn't themselves get compromised via compromised dependencies.

Besides pairing devices, there isn't a lot of actual use cases for balanced PAKEs. Some PAKEs have the interesting property that passwords are never sent to servers. Which is definitely a good thing. Insider threats and excessive loggi

PHP’s popularity is not only due to Wordpress. The language is simple and accessible. The ecosystem and community are ginormous. Are you stuck on something? A quick Google search has the answer. Finding PHP developers anywhere is also easy.
