Former submariner here. My thoughts echo those of a ex-submariner group I'm a part of -- it makes sense across the board. It's 1) a cost saving measure, 2) WAY easier to get replacements, and 3) WAAAYY easier to train new people

I find it weird that they didn't mention the name of the UK airline in the article. When they launched around Demo Day it was all over the news that it was Virgin & Richard Branson, and all of those articles are still online.

Former US Navy submarine officer here. It is very difficult to attack/destroy a submarine. And it's pretty easy for submarines to attack/kill surface fleets. That's why I've been similarly skeptical of the Navy
