If it really costs them 30x more surely they must plan on putting pretty significant usage limits on any rollout to the Plus tier and if that is the case i'm not sure what the point is considering it seems primarily a replacement/

Wow you aren't kidding, 30x input price and 15x output price vs 4o is insane. The pricing on all AI API stuff changes so rapidly and is often so extreme between models it is all hard to keep track of and try to make value decisions. I

Per Altman on X: "we will add tens of thousands of GPUs next week and roll it out to the plus tier then". Meanwhile a month after launch rtx 5000 series is completely unavailable and hardly any restocks and the "launch"

It's a real shame the memory isn't a 512 bit bus or higher for comparable bandwidth to apple's M max series. If they had accomplished that at this price they would sell like crazy I think for AI. Having the downsides of solde

I think this is much more on a botched rollout and a lack of vision. Apple should have been working on this for years and have some pretty big advantages. A deeply integrated version of the best o1 chat and vision models with context from a

It's strange to me that relative performance would even be a primary factor for defining performance as "excellent". You could be number one on the list and still deeply unsettled if performance is dropping or stagnant. I wou

Price doesn't make any sense in the context of nothing between $20 and $200 (unless you just use the API directly which for a large subset of people would be very inconvenient). Assuming they didn't change the limit from o1-previe

My prompting is conservative to err on the side of playing an ad if there is a chance it might be part of the actual content, not really getting false positives at all yet. That being said while still in development I haven't reached t

I actually have a WIP cross platform app that does exactly this. It is more generic around processing any audio/video with whisper and integrating with openai or local llm's for summarization and other things but I also added a po

I've always thought it would be interesting to have a education system that focused primarily on the best outcome for the brightest students and focused the vast majority of resources on the top 5% or so. I wonder if the total impact m

Both iOS and macOS seem to have a strange number of their updates "coming later" and that is not even including Apple Intelligence which they really made the cornerstone of the updates in initial marketing. Very bizarre.

This effect has been compounding too. I used to upgrade almost every cycle but have been on 11 Pro now and haven't been motivated to upgrade until this 16. It takes the combined changes of about 4 cycles to match the level of interest

That is completely psychotic blacking out single frame screenshots for copyright reasons. Copyright is truly out of control and just comically ridiculous at this point.

While I still use Reddit often I kind of hope this marks the decline and something new emerges. Pretty much anything and everything their army of devs have built over the past 5+ years has been anti user. I can't even remember the last

Nice work, I like the simplicity, math blocks, and mixed syntax highlighting. My workflow for the past few years has been within all my sublime projects to have a gitignored folder named scratchpad with mixed files for this exact use case.
