I really wish there was a plex for ebooks where I could just throw epubs on my server and read on kobo ereader, iphone, web, mac/windows native, etc and just not think about it. Would also be nice to have actually decent stats tracking

I think it's a reflection of the complete monopoly Youtube has on E, pg, pg-13, and R (basically nonexistent on Youtube) content. Video on the internet is basically Youtube with all its restrictions or porn. Mr. Beast is basically the

Two extra batteries will likely be trivial cost in the context of a $3500 device, not sure why this isn't clear to everyone critiquing the battery life?

No tech specs available on https://www.apple.com/apple-vision-pro/ and no release date "early next year". Both are unusual for apple. I wonder why they didn't hold off to announce it when actually ready.

I don't really watch cable news so hadn't considered it but yeah makes sense as similar to sports in a lot of situations and more passive viewing. If you aren't the kind of person who watches films and scripted shows like me

Right that is why i mentioned sports viewing as probably the main exception. I would be very curious to see the stats on percentage of media viewing alone vs couples vs groups. My bet would be the majority is solo even for families and coup

One thing which I don't get why people don't seem to get is long term (and perhaps with this release from Apple) headsets should be replacing tv's for at least a substantial amount of viewing. For example I have a fairly high

It seems like a lot of the entries in TTS are either close sourced saas apps or something like this with limitations on customizing it. It seems clearly inevitable and likely only months away that a high quality unrestricted open source opt

A few thoughts: 1) On the talk of saturation Netflix had somewhere around 230 mil subscribers last year. In theory the addressable market should be adults ~20 and up so somewhere around 5 bil. So not even close to saturation. Discounting sa

It's kind of absurd the level of failure in crypto lending. Putting aside anyone with criticisms of all things crypto these should all be based on the very basic and long established business model of taking deposits, making loans, and

Biggest downside here is probably sticking with Fresnel lenses, can't even really call it gen 2 with that decision. Probably had to be made to meet the price point I guess unfortunately. Should be a pretty clear screen though with the

This is an extraordinarily disappointing release. Even if this was priced at $400 I would be disappointed. We have waited years and they included zero next gen VR tech. I feel like VR should be in the stages similar to the early gen iPhones
