Keep in mind that the EM field described in that study is quite strong and the transmitter is very close (actually in contact with the patient's skin). They talk about field intensities of 0.6V/cm. That means that if you put the t

Sure, 60 GHz may be a resonant frequency of O₂ molecules and signals at that frequency may transfer energy to them and thus heat them up. However, remember that radio signals lose energy to free space proportional to the (distance and frequ

I was also curious about this, so I looked at the Airworthiness Directive[1] referenced in the example NOTAM. Basically, the argument is that the radio altimeter receivers "must detect faint signals reflected off the ground to measure

I don't think you are supposed to be impressed by the number of things that could go wrong. At least, that's not how I see it. They talk about the deployment phase with all these complex things that have to go exactly right as &qu

There's no real silver bullet other than applying the systems engineering process diligently. You start by writing down your user requirements (what the system needs to deliver ), and you follow the thread of figuring out that "t

While I agree with you that Google is abusing its power in the Android ecosystem to "encourage" (to put it nicely) developers to use their APIs, it is actually possible to manage this imbalance between what Google wants and what w

11 dB is pretty impressive, especially if you are just looking at the Doppler shift in the carrier. Which actually begs the question, can you decode anything (e.g. satellite ID) from the downlink/idle signal? If not, how do you figure

The point is that if the capability for "the iCloud Photos client" to scan your photos before uploading them to the cloud exists, it's only Apple's policy that stops it from scanning all of your photos.

I don’t think that’s true. Hydraulics are just a way of transferring/multiplying force, like gears or belts (but much more powerful). The amount of weight to be moved will certainly modulate the energy consumption of the motor.
