This is true, as well. In my short time (< 2 months) at Motorola in Beijing, I can tell you that very few of the "engineers" here would be hired at Google.

This is true. The CEO of Motorola Mobility came on a conference call with us (here at Motorola in Beijing) and told us that they didn't really know much more than we did, and to stay tuned. They have told us to "refrain from gossip or specu

I love this concept. Smart guys offering up advice to fledgling companies and entrepreneurs looking to do something great. $10 for 10 minutes is a steal for such an opportunity, especially because you could prepare a few questions well in a

I have already opened a ticket to move to their Dallas location. Many people have told me it is the best. Wish I knew this upon first signing up with them...

Unfortunately, DropBox doesn't work in China. I have resulted to using a USB thumbdrive, but that's not as elegant. Can't use VPN at work, either, which sucks.

Yeah, I agree. I contract at Motorola in China, and it is extremely regimented. The Chinese are very good at it, though. Coming from a startup culture, I can tell you it is hard to believe the two cultures are going to sit well with each ot

Interesting. Using this app, I'm able to use Google+ in China. However, going to plus.google.com doesn't work. Does this use a different communication method we & China aren't aware of?

It's not uncommon for files for enterprise sites to exceed 30KB. Ours is about 45KB, but we have some work to do on it. Oh, and we call customizations for our other clients, too. Keep in mind, that this is an uncompressed file, which does n

Taking the other side for a moment, I think things like EC2 and S3 could help mitigate some of the costs of scaling RoR apps like this. Thought out prior to making rash decisions like buying dedicated servers from Joyent at a high cost, you
