Microsoft's desktop strategy has been a disaster. If I had to guess? A bad decision and then sunk cost. If for their cross platform story they'd gone the avalonia route and developed cross platform wpf they would have been miles a

This reminded me that one thing I miss from WPF is the "free" render-time polymorphism. If you had an interface, say ICard, and a few xaml data templates for how to render the concrete types, all you had to do was bind to a collec

I recently had a page import something like site_stats.js (site meant as in a physical building/location) from the same domain as the html request and ublock blocked it. Had to rename the bundle. Thanks for [name redacted] btw, I

Most people seem to be able to recall memories with some imagery and with some effort explore an object / space with imagery. It's not vivid like a dream though, and doesn't have that 1st-personness either.

I think there's some of that over-reading. In these exchanges the language typically gets sloppy and one person's "see" gets translated and reacted to as whoa, with their eyes? . If you can imagine a red car and see it

I haven't touched Instagram since they offered this ultimatum. Hopefully I can wait it out. The only reason I might have needed to use it would be to reach people whose contact I only have on there.

Yep. When investigating a solution for a government-adjacent organisation I've been handed a standard which specified single return per function. A recommendation likely lifted from one of these sources.

There are two C# services which do some background bits and pieces. This logic could have been put within pocketbase as well, but the body of work they depend on was already .net. Other than that it's just little JavaScript callbacks i
