The friction that semi-private links remove is that the recipient doesn't need an account for your service. Any tradeoffs should be viewed in that context.

The secret, and it is a secret, is to understand everything that you've just written, and quietly let the machine worry on. That collective handwringing (set in eternal struggle as it is with financial greed) is what got us here, and i

"we promote accounts of exploited children to internally- and algorithmically- suspected pedophiles" doesn't strike me as an article they'd pay to have written.

We've arrived at a weird spot. There's a lot of very good software written in Go now. Much of that software could benefit (performance wise, at least, leaving ergonomics aside due to subjectivity) from being written in C# instead.

True, would need to assume that over time drought-prone cities converge on a number of days from full for their reservoirs. Unlikely to be the case. For 39% to be low enough to get to 0 by june though they'd have to get through the who

39% seems relatively high by Australian/Spanish/South African standards. Barcelona's reservoir is currently sitting around ~16%. Is that 39% number deceiving, meaning that the actual supply to Mexico DF would run out sooner?

Yeah, neither of those things make any difference to anything. I also feel incredibly heartless for adding my own "be careful" message to this person's eager response to someone's plea for help, but there it is.

While I agree that the food thing is neither here nor there, I didn't find the warning absurd. Once you've been through one of these difficult cases and seen the impact that it can have on the other employees it's hard to unl

I've been seeing more lately that the stack is being mentioned as htmx+alpinejs. Not sure how long it'll be until the htmx part gets rationalised out in those instances. Maybe it won't, and people will keep shipping both. Str

How bizarre. I guess I can count myself lucky that I don't seem to live in that particular world. Is the problem the incentive itself, eg. if they didn't reward fixed bugs would you write better (even just better communicated) cod

I've re-read this a few times to try to grasp the wisdom which the confident contrarian tone makes me suspect is in there. I have to say I couldn't find it. Could you give an example scenario where the status quo would be improve

Leaving the believability of the prose to one side, does anyone have any insight into whether these things have really gained traction? I'm somewhat in this space, but not in the US. I saw the industry try to clumsily embrace UDMI just

Maybe you could use html as an intermediate point instead of markdown. Might give you more control over the layout. Might have to use a headless chromium wrapper (maybe pandoc has this anyway) to then get to pdf but that may not be too bad
